Singathon at Afua Aduonum – Some unscrupulous persons are already spreading a rumor on social media that Guinness World Records has disqualified Afua Aduonum for violating some of the regulations governing the sing-a-thon.

Applicants must be 16 years of age or older to apply for this record title.

The songs sung during the competition must be identifiable and performed to an acceptable quality. This is entirely at the discretion of Guinness World Records.

Singing must be continuous, with no more than 30 second breaks permitted between songs, also each piece of music must be at least two minutes long. No piece of music may be performed more than once in four hours. Songs may only be played again after 4 hours.

Applicant may take five-minute breaks every hour or twenty-minute breaks after four hours, no improvisation or jamming is permitted.

Applicants may or may not be accompanied. No musician may perform for more than four hours if accompanied, after which they must take a four-hour rest.

Following the attempt, a playlist of all tracks played must be kept and provided with the claim.

Looking at the aforementioned laws, it can be said persuasively that Afua Aduonum abided by all of them in the layman’s view hence, only Guinness World Records authorities can find the particular regulation she infringed that causes her exclusion.

Until then, the news that the Afua Aduonum Sing-A-Thon has been disqualified should be ignored as we wait for an official word from Guinness World Records.
